a week in the office in Manhattan.Headquartered in New York with

1951, the Claims Conference has secured more than $90 billion from
the German government in indemnification for Survivors.In 2023, the
Claims Conference distributed approximately $625 million in direct
compensation to over 260,000 survivors in 83 countries and
allocated approximately $900 million in grants to over 300 social
service agencies worldwide that provide vital services for
Holocaust survivors, such as home care, food, and medicine. Our
Research, Education, and Documentation (RED) funds contribute
toward global efforts to educate the public and preserve the memory
of the Holocaust through teacher training programs, exhibitions,
and films such as Son of Saul, an Academy Award winner for Best
Foreign Film. At the Claims Conference, we honor history while
making history.The Claims Conference has an opening for a Data
Analyst on the Cash for Services project in the Survivor and
Engagement Experience department. This program provides much needed
financial support for homecare services which enable Holocaust
survivors to remain in their homes and receive care. This program
runs in the US and Europe and there are plans to expand to other
areas. The ideal candidate will have professional experience
analyzing complex data sets and providing actional insights that
will improve the program and ensure that it runs smoothly. This
member of the team will also communicate directly with survivors
and agencies and provide support and status updates to
applicants.Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and financial
implications, detect anomalies, and generate actionable insights.
Sources of data include Excel and Claims Conference proprietary and
financial databases;
- Create and automate comprehensive reports using Excel and other
relevant tools;
- Manage multiple data points, ensuring accuracy and consistency
across all documents and databases;
- Database Management;
- Provide validation for cases in the database, ensuring data
integrity and consistency;
- Review and manage the matching process using advanced
techniques to check for possible duplicates;
- Conduct a final review of data and document files before
submission for review by Accounting and Audit departments;
- Perform data entry with high accuracy.
- Communication & Support:
- Correspond with applicants and their representatives, providing
guidance and updates;
- Answer phone calls, emails, and letters from Survivors and
Agencies, offering status updates on the CFS program and
payments;
- Inform the Supervisor about complaints or challenging areas
requiring attention.Qualifications:
- Analytical Skills: Experience analyzing, interpreting, and
managing large datasets in a professional environment. Ability to
quickly become proficient in the use of Claims Conference
proprietary and financial databases;
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of and experience using
Excel in a professional environment, including the use of formulas,
pivot tables, and automation tools (e.g., VBA);
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to
detail, especially in data validation and reporting;
- Problem-Solving: Resourceful in gathering relevant information
and making decisions within the existing framework;
- Independent Work: Ability to work independently with a
structured approach to tasks;
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and a
team-oriented attitude.Claims Conference offers generous benefits,

based on geographic location. Our target salary range for Data
Analyst in the New York City market is $70,000-$75,000. This salary
range represents Claims Conference's good faith and reasonable
estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the
time of posting. The final salary for this role will be determined
based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the
candidate's exact location, experience in similar roles, and
expertise related to the qualifications. This information is
