Job Description:
The Event Captain is responsible for delivering exceptional
service and overseeing the execution of premium events with
precision and elegance. This role serves as a liaison between the
sales team, service staff, management, and clients on the day of
event. The captain facilitates and actively supports all aspects of
event operations, ensuring the highest level of hospitality,
service, and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include
executing events from start to finish at a premier level of
excellence and hospitality, maintaining a polished appearance, and
reviewing event information to ensure consistency. The Event
Captain works collaboratively with event sales teams, clients,
staff, and managers to ensure seamless execution of events, assigns
tasks, and oversees staff to ensure efficient workflow. The role
requires strong organizational skills, ability to manage strict
timelines, and handle guest requests and complaints in an efficient
and calm manner. The Event Captain also facilitates training of
event staff, executes event setup, welcomes hosts, and communicates
with culinary staff to ensure all food-related requirements are
met. The role requires a strong work ethic, guest-focused approach,
and ability to work independently and collaboratively in an
ever-changing environment. The Event Captain is also responsible
for overseeing breakdown of events, reporting on event success, and
making sure that the POS check matches the BEO and all payments are
final. The position requires a minimum 2 years' experience in an
event/banquet operations role, preferably within a luxury setting
in an upscale, high-end environment. The ideal candidate has
exceptional guest service and hospitality skills, is
detail-oriented, and has a refined sense of service and ability to
perform gracefully under pressure. The role also requires a strong
ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbal and
written, across all levels within the organization. The Event
Captain must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early
mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The base pay range
for this position is $35.00 - $45.00 per hour. Creative Culinary
