Job Description:

The Early RAPP Educators will provide workshops to students, parents, and school staff. Early
RAPP Educators will be responsible for delivering preventative workshops to educate on
relationship abuse and domestic violence at Early RAPP designated schools. Early RAPP
Educators will also link students and families to direct services as needed.

salary: $40,000

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate workshops based on URI's middle school RAPP curriculum focused on
    relationship abuse, healthy relationships, and personal boundaries for students, staff and
    parent.
  • Tailor the Early RAPP curriculum to meet the needs of each individual school
  • Conduct outreach and scheduling with assigned Early RAPP schools
  • Participate in formulating and building on workshops and educational materials related to Early RAPP
  • Work collaboratively with URI staff to map out the path of Early RAPP, participating in planning meetings targeted to evaluate the program and its future
  • Act as a representative of URI at Early RAPP related events, conferences and community meetings
  • Foster relationships within communities being served by Early RAPP
  • Maintain accurate data related to tracking the program
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule involving traveling throughout the five boroughs
  • Capable of working independently and in groups when needed
  • Willingness to take on other responsibilities as needed. SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
    • Bachelor's Degree REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
      • Minimum of 3 years experience teaching/training youth.
      • Competence working with diverse groups of youth, including, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, immigrant, youth in foster care, and/or low- income youth and communities
      • Strong commitment to youth empowerment
      • Capacity for working in an independent setting as well as collaboratively
      • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
      • Desire to work in a non-profit setting and build upon a growing program
      • Exceptional judgment, organization, and time management skills
      • Training/teaching experience strongly preferred
      • Bilingual preferred
      • Knowledge of Word and Excel systems preferred.
