Nurse (RN)**\nJob Summary:\nA Dialysis Inpatient Registered Nurse
(RN) provides specialized care to patients with acute or chronic
kidney disease who require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
treatment. The RN works closely with a multidisciplinary team to
manage and monitor patients undergoing dialysis, ensuring optimal
care and outcomes in an inpatient setting.\n\nKey
Responsibilities:\n

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients
undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis in an inpatient
setting.\n
- Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and
dialysis-related parameters, ensuring optimal fluid and electrolyte
balance.\n
- Administer dialysis treatments, ensuring equipment is properly
set up and functioning, and addressing any complications that arise
during dialysis.\n
- Educate patients on dialysis treatments, including the
procedure, expected outcomes, and self-care post-treatment.\n
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and
other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care
plans.\n
- Monitor for and respond to complications related to dialysis,
such as hypotension, cramping, infections, or electrolyte
imbalances.\n
- Administer medications as prescribed, including anticoagulants,
antihypertensives, and other dialysis-related medications.\n
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments,
dialysis treatments, and interventions.\n
- Advocate for patients' needs, ensuring timely access to
dialysis treatments and other related care.\n
- Participate in patient education and training programs related
to kidney disease, dialysis, and renal health.\n
- Provide emotional support to patients and families dealing with
chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease (ESRD).\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the overall
care of patients with renal conditions.\n\n\nQualifications:\n

- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\n
- Licensure:\n

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of
practice.\n\n\n

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\n
- Dialysis certification (e.g., Certified Nephrology Nurse - CNN)
