Summary:Meta is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Production Engineering team. Production Engineers at Meta are hybrid software/systems/infrastructure engineers who ensure that Meta's services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. They are embedded across Meta's product and infrastructure teams, and are core participants in significant engineering efforts underway in the company.Relevant industry experience is important (Software Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Network Engineer, or similar role), but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. We sail into uncharted waters every day at Meta in Production Engineering, and we are always learning.Required Skills:Production Engineer Responsibilities:Own back-end services which handle fleet management, front-end services such as WhatsApp / Instagram / Facebook / Meta Ads, infrastructure components that drive Meta's advances in AI, core services which are used by every team at Meta, the world's largest MySQL deployments, networking systems and everything in betweenLead your engineering team by example, mentor and help others around you grow, be a force multiplier of impactWrite and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the worldTogether with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidentsPartner alongside the best engineers in the industry working on the coolest stuff around, the code and systems you work on will be in production and used by billions of people all around the worldMinimum Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.10+ years of experience in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals10+ years of coding experienceExperience learning development languages (Python, C++, Rust, PHP/Hack, Go, Java)Experience learning software, frameworks and APIsExperience with Internet service architecture capacity planning and/or handling needs for urgent capacity augmentationKnowledge of common web technologies and/or Internet service architectures (such as LAMP or MEAN stacks, CDN, Load Balancing techniques, etc.)Experience configuring and running infrastructure level applications, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications:BS or MS in Computer SciencePublic Compensation:$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefitsIndustry: InternetEqual Opportunity:Meta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
